Infrastructure

Delivering essential connectivity for governments and communities through a hybrid infrastructure of satellites, ground stations, subsea cables, and terrestrial networks.

Satellite fleet

Multi-orbit connectivity for every sector.

As Northern Europe’s leading satellite operator, we manage a GEO fleet of THOR satellites positioned at 1° West, delivering robust and reliable data communications and media broadcasting services across the Nordics and EMEA.

Our recently launched HEO ASBM 1 & 2 satellites, provide dual-purpose connectivity. Primarily serving the military broadband needs of the Norwegian and US Armed Forces in the Arctic, they also offer commercial broadband services for Viasat.

Ground services

Supporting you from the ground.

Our Nittedal teleport, located on the outskirts of Oslo, is one of Europe’s largest and the world’s northernmost earth stations. By managing both satellites and the antenna park, we maintain full control over the entire value chain, ensuring consistent and reliable broadcasting and data services.

Our Euro-Fibre network links key European hubs, integrating terrestrial and satellite services for secure and seamless media distribution and data communications.

Subsea cable systems

Delivering critical connectivity to the Arctic.

Space Norway owns and manages two fibreoptic subsea cables that provide stable internet connectivity to Longyearbyen, the main Norwegian settlement in Svalbard.

These cables also connect to the research station at Ny-Ålesund. Ny-Ålesund, located at 79° North in Spitsbergen, is the world’s northernmost settlement.
